Our Commitment

Sustainability & Social Impact

Good food should be good for people and good for the planet.

At Theolon, sustainability is not a marketing strategy — it is the foundation of how we grow, source, manufacture, and serve. From the farmers we work with to the way we manage waste inside our production process, every decision we make is guided by a simple belief:

Good food should be good for people and good for the planet.

Supporting Sri Lankan Farmers

Theolon works directly with local Sri Lankan cocoa farmers to create a fairer and more sustainable agricultural ecosystem. By purchasing directly from growers, we help farmers receive better value for their harvest while maintaining full traceability and quality throughout our supply chain.

Together with Professor Nilantha Liyanage, we also conduct farmer workshops and educational programs focused on:

  • Sustainable cocoa cultivation
  • Post-harvest handling and fermentation
  • Improving crop quality and yield
  • Long-term value creation for farming communities

Our goal is not only to purchase cocoa — but to help build a stronger future for Sri Lankan agriculture.

Creating Value Within Sri Lanka

One of Theolon's core missions is to increase value addition within the country instead of exporting raw materials with minimal processing.

By transforming locally grown cocoa into premium chocolate, cocoa products, and hospitality experiences, we help create:

  • Skilled employment opportunities
  • Local manufacturing growth
  • New tourism experiences
  • Stronger agricultural value chains

Every product created by Theolon carries the story of Sri Lankan soil, craftsmanship, and innovation.

Responsible Production

Responsible Production & Waste Reduction

We believe sustainable manufacturing means using resources responsibly and minimizing unnecessary waste.

As part of our circular production approach, certain by-products generated during processing are repurposed into sustainable animal feed instead of being discarded. This helps reduce environmental waste while creating additional value from raw materials that would otherwise go unused.

We continuously explore environmentally responsible practices across:

  • Ingredient sourcing
  • Packaging
  • Energy usage
  • Waste management
  • Production efficiency

Clean Ingredients, Honest Products

Theolon is committed to creating products made with clean, natural ingredients wherever possible.

Through both our chocolate products and Vitale Edible Oils, we prioritize:

  • Locally sourced raw materials
  • Minimal processing
  • Chemical-free production methods
  • Transparency in sourcing and manufacturing

We believe consumers deserve products they can trust — products that are crafted with integrity from start to finish.
